Field Medical Companion (FMC)
The Field Medical Companion (FMC) is a handheld procedural information display designed to provide medical and
survival information for ground troops in austere environments. The FMC was developed under a sub-contract for the
Office of Naval Research, Naval Health Research Center. The system allows soldiers to rapidly locate treatment protocols
for common injuries and diseases, as well as presenting detailed procedures to follow in emergency situations including
chemical, biological, and radiological events.
